Pre-shoot for
Portraits
Welcome + Overview
Hey there! I’m so excited to photograph you. This guide has everything you need to feel confident and ready before your session — from what to wear to how the session will flow. My goal is to make this experience simple, fun, and uniquely you. If you have any questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out at (706) 389-9756 or info@danielinfocus.com.
What to Expect
Your session will last about 45-60 minutes, and we’ll meet at the location we discussed — I’ll confirm the exact details with you the day before. During the shoot, I’ll guide you through simple posing and prompts, so you never have to worry about what to do with your hands or how to stand. Expect a relaxed, conversational vibe — and don’t stress if it takes a few minutes to warm up; that’s completely normal. We’ll likely walk a little between spots, so feel free to bring comfy shoes or a bag to stash anything you’re not using.
After the session, you’ll get a private online gallery within about a week. Your photos will be ready to download and share in both print and web sizes.
What to Wear
The best outfits are the ones that make you feel like yourself. Stick to solid colors, subtle textures, or muted patterns — things that won’t distract from your face or personality. Avoid clothing with large logos, graphics, or loud patterns. Layers like jackets, scarves, or cardigans can add depth and variety to your look. If you’re stuck deciding, feel free to send me outfit options — I’m happy to help you choose!
Optional Add-Ons
Want to bring a friend, your dog, a guitar, a bouquet, or anything that tells your story? Go for it. Props can add personal flair and help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Just let me know ahead of time so I can plan space and time accordingly.
Weather & Rescheduling
If the weather looks rough, we’ll touch base 24–48 hours before your session and come up with a plan. I allow one free reschedule as long as you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Life happens, and I’ll work with you to make sure you still get your moment.
Final Tips
Get a good night’s sleep the night before, drink plenty of water, and arrive a few minutes early to settle in and shake off any nerves. Trust the process — I’ll handle the angles and lighting so you can just be yourself. This is your moment, and I can’t wait to help you capture it.
